When we received word that our project was funded for an additional 3 years, we were excited about the possibility of continuing to study lakes in North Carolina as well as expanding to new lakes in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
NASA recently announced that the Lake Level Monitoring Project is one of 6 citizen science projects that will receive funding through its Citizen Science for Earth Systems Program.
Those of you who have interacted with us in person or on the website have heard us use the term “citizen scientist” to describe the volunteers who are out there taking lake level measurements for the project.
